Taman Ayun Temple

Taman Ayun Temple, located in Mengwi Village about 18 km from Denpasar, is a historic royal temple of the Mengwi Kingdom. Surrounded by a scenic moat, the temple appears to float on water and showcases stunning Balinese architecture with multi-tiered roofs and lush gardens.

Built in 1634, its name means "beautiful garden temple," reflecting its peaceful setting. Easily accessible from the main Denpasar–Singaraja route, Taman Ayun is a must-visit cultural site in Bali, popular with both local and international travelers.

Ulundanu Beratan Temple

Ulun Danu Beratan Temple is a stunning Balinese Hindu temple set on the shores of Lake Beratan in Candi Kuning, Tabanan Regency, about 50 km north of Denpasar. Surrounded by cool mountain air and scenic hills, the temple appears to float on the lake’s surface, creating a peaceful and iconic landscape.

Named after the lake it borders, the temple honors Dewi Danu, the goddess of water, fertility, and prosperity. According to the Mengwi papyrus chronicle, it was once called Parhyangan ri Pinggiring Danu, meaning “sanctuary on the lake’s edge.” With nearby mountains like Pucak Sangkur and Mount Beratan framing the view, Ulun Danu is both a spiritual center and a must-visit destination in Bali’s highlands.

Alas Kedaton Monkey Forest

Discover the enchanting Alas Kedaton, a 12-hectare sacred forest where hundreds of monkeys live freely in a serene, natural setting. This hidden gem is one of Bali’s few places where you can witness monkeys up close, playing peacefully among ancient trees. Look up and you’ll spot giant bats hanging from the treetops, their calls echoing through the forest — adding to the magical, wild atmosphere. A perfect stop for nature lovers and curious explorers!

Tanah Lot Temple

Tanah Lot is one of Bali’s most iconic temples, perched on a rocky outcrop surrounded by the ocean. During high tide, it appears to float on the sea — a breathtaking sight, especially at sunset. This sacred site offers multiple stunning viewpoints and is home to several other Hindu shrines, making it a deeply spiritual destination.

Just in front of the temple, a coastal cave is believed to house holy sea snakes, considered guardians of the temple by locals. With a small donation, visitors can catch a glimpse of these revered creatures. Tanah Lot is a must-visit for its dramatic beauty, cultural significance, and unforgettable sunsets.
